The site chosen for Bighorn's golf course demanded an architect who understood how to capture, not alter, the majesty of the Santa Rosa Mountains, and who would create a course that would be both challenging and enjoyable to play. Renowned golf course architect Arthur Hills was the obvious choice to design Bighorn's 6,888 yard Par 72, 18 hole championship golf course. Arthur Hills explains his philosophy: "The site sets the tone. An architect shouldn't impose his signature on a course. He should work within the natural context he's given." At Bighorn, the terrain is special. The elevation ranges from 810 feet to 1,150 feet, so the mountains become more than just a backdrop. The views are simply awesome.
